How to Optimise Your PROFIT
And Minimise Your RISK!
- With real MANAGEMENT CONTROL
- Get paid FASTER, Eliminate Waste and Reduce Accidents
Amaze yourself with the level of control you could achieve over whole areas of your business which were previously out of your sight - and therefore, to a large extent, out of your control.
The right Vehicle Management Solution can include a range of not only vehicle management, but also personnel and process management benefits.
Health, Safety and Damage Reduction can be significantly improved...
Because, a range of driver identification and authorisation can be built-in to your solution. For example, you may have a problem with un-licensed or unauthorised drivers operating your vehicles, assets - or machinery.
Now, solutions exist which can either capture the details of the driver through a range of methods, or the vehicle can be completely immobile until an authorised driver uses the correct key/key fob to start it. With this then providing an irrefutable audit trail of who the driver was at a particular time when the vehicle performed a particular manoeuvre or journey. And this can have an impressive impact on unauthorised, particularly personal use, of your assets along with a dramatic reduction (over 80% achieved to our knowledge) in asset damage due to misuse.
Plus, with 'Duty of Care' issues rising ever higher on the agenda, being able to prove that you are operating active 'safe driving' policies, will put you in a significantly stronger position than those organisations who are unable to show such progress in the unfortunate event of a serious accident investigation.
Speeding is a Serious Business issue...

- And taking actions which slow your drivers down, when they are travelling too fast, is not only good for them, but when liveried vehicles are being driven irresponsibly, it does your company's image no good whatsoever, and the cost of replacing suspended drivers is a cost your company can well do without!
The right Vehicle Management Solution will enable you to replay driver journeys, produce over-speed reports, and even send SMS message alarms when particular speeds have been exceeded.
When each vehicle contains 20,000 fashion garments this company needs complete control...
Prima Distribution is another company, which has benefited from a well-implemented Vehicle Management Solution. - They are a well-known name in the fashion industry, delivering more than 40 million garments a year to the leading names in High Street fashion, such as New Look and Matalan.
Their Operational headquarters are based in London, with depots in Weymouth, Leicester, Oldham and Stoke-on-Trent. Prima Distribution collects and delivers clothes from warehouses to major volume fashion stores across the UK, and also collects from across Eastern Europe and delivers directly to the customer’s warehouse.
As there can be around 20,000 fashion garments in each truck, it is vital that head office has timely and accurate information about every journey. "Essentially, it's about providing quality customer service," said Managing Director Ray Halford. "Our customers need to know when they can expect their consignments to be delivered, and with the new system, we can give them an accurate update on exactly where the truck is and what time it will arrive. Before this, we would have to telephone the drivers, who would tell us roughly where they were and give us an estimated time of arrival. They could be held up in traffic, or have to follow a diversion, and we would then have to call again to find out where they were. Now, we can look at a screen and see exactly where they are at any one time and tell our customers. We no longer have to guess."
Information is updated constantly, and head office gain a whole range of useful information, such as start and stop times for each delivery and which route the driver has taken.
“Having the Navman system installed in our trucks has removed the human element in tracking our deliveries,” added Ray Halford. “We also know exactly how many miles each driver has done, at what speed and what route has been taken. This provides us with very useful historical data. “Now, when we discuss the route chosen by drivers, we can show them that an alternative might have been a better option. This gives us opportunities to reduce our mileage with better route planning, and means less time is wasted on deliveries."
How Could Your Management Control and Admin Benefit?
Just take a moment to reflect on some of your current processes and how they could be improved...
How many jobs are done by each mobile person on average each day? - And what would it mean to your results if you could increase this?
Consider how your jobs are being communicated to your mobile work force. Is it truly efficient, or could precious time and cost be saved by simply sending automated messages between central control and your workers?
How are jobs updated and closed down for invoicing? Would automated reports save time, avoid errors and ensure that time and resource is correctly accounted for? - Are you able to have accurate invoices sent the same day a job is completed?
What is your current process for invoicing a customer? How long does it take for the paperwork to come through the system, and what resources does that take up both in 'the field' and at your office? Consider everything from the time involved in filing & retrieving returns, plus communication costs in calls/faxes/emails.
How quickly can your team react to changes in the 'typical' day?
